CoDE Pod Hostel is an urban concept designed to give travellers a central location and quality sleeping environment at a low cost. The Asian-style pod concept is the main unique design feature combined with secure keypad entry systems which the name “CoDE” was derived from. Our hostels are unique and centrally located in the vibrant and beautiful Edinburgh city centre within walking distance to most major sights and we are conveniently located on connections to and from the airport. The train and bus station are just a few minutes walk from our hostel.
CoDE Pod Hostels – THE CoURT is a former courthouse and jail transformed into CoDE Pod Hostels.
THE CoURT by CoDE will feature cool holding cells as private rooms, POD beds dormitories, an underground bar in our close and the original courtroom will be converted in to a cool sleeping studio with pod beds
We have a few minimum brand standards such as providing clean rooms and bathrooms, high-quality mattresses and linen. Also we think that an healthy breakfast is an important start of the day plus a healthy breakfast. In addition, we pride ourselves on having welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable staff with a ''how can I help'' mentality.

Property and Cancelation Policies :
Payment conditions:
- For reservations of 7 guests or less, no deposit is taken at the time of booking.
- A prepayment of the full amount will be taken within the cancellation policy, i.e. 7 days prior to your arrival date and is required to secure your reservation.
- If we are unable to charge the card the reservation may be cancelled
- Modifications and cancellation can be made free of charge up to 7 days prior to arrival date.
- If cancelled within 7 days prior to arrival date or in the event of a no show the full balance of the booking will be charged
Non-refundable rates
Payment conditions:
- Full payment will be taken within 24 hours of the reservation date.
- If we are unable to charge the card the reservation may be cancelled.
- No amendments allowed and if cancelled no refund will be offered.
Dual Rate Selection
If both non-refundable rates and Standard rates are chosen in the same reservation, the most restrictive rate policy applies. i.e. the non-refundable policy will be applicable for the entire reservation.

Groups of 8 or more guests
Payment conditions:
- A non-refundable deposit of 20% will be charged in order to secure the reservation.
- The remaining balance is due 28 days prior to the arrival date.
- If we are unable to charge the card the reservation may be cancelled.
Cancellations & modifications:
- If the whole reservation is cancelled up to 28 days before the arrival date, the accommodation deposit (20% of the reservation) will not be refunded.
- The group reservation can be amended free of charge up to 28 days prior to arrival. If due to the amendments the value of the reservation falls below the original deposit amount, then we will not be able to refund the difference.
- If you cancel your group reservation less than 28 days before your day of arrival, no refund will be given and the outstanding amount will be due.
- If you are booking within 28 days of the arrival date the full amount will be due immediately, no refund will be given for any cancellation or amendments.
- Upon arrival a code of conduct needs to be signed by a group leader and a damage deposit taken. (£300 pre-authorisation on a valid credit card.)
- Reservations have to either be made online through the website or in writing to thecourt@codehostel.com
- Modifications to group reservations have to be made in writing to thecourt@codehostel.com
- We don't accept stag and hen parties
Terms and Conditions
- Smoking and vaping is strictly forbidden inside the hostel.
- No food and drinks with the exception of water are allowed inside the dorm rooms.
- Quiet time from 10pm – 7am in the rooms and corridors.
- Latest check-out time is 11:00 am on check-out day, failing to do so might incur a charge.
- Only hostel guests are allowed in their assigned dorms.
- Tampering with the fire alarm will result in a charge for the costs made.
- Your credit card can be charged in case of violations against our terms and conditions.
- Please sleep in the bed allocated - only one guest per single bed.
